Sorry bud, I gotta agree with Tyler a head unit wired correctly wont drain your battery, somewhere there is a glitch in the wiring, my guess is with the acc wire, plus lets just say for an example it IS the head unit, why not replace the head unit instead of adding an aux eq? SOmething tells me there is more to the wiring set up than you have explained.
