Does anyone know what I need to make my voice clearer when recording?

I have a Microsoft WebCam but the mic seems to make my voice "muffled" Do I need a different Mic or download a equalizer? I Tried to download Audacity but it don't read WMA Files. Plus it made you download a bunch of stuff. I tried karaoke sites but it does'nt let you put your own songs on it. I have the instrumental and want to record my voice with it. Any suggestions. (please no nonsense answwers and remarks are not needed)
