My hair is completely unmanageable when dry?

When my hair is wet, I can do basically anything with it, but when it dries, it gets all poofed and scrunched up, and it's really irritating and ugly! My hair is really curly because I am half black half white. Are there any products that I can use to keep my hair in control when it's dry?
